From your first contact right through to becoming an approved foster carer, our dedicated team will be there to support you every step of your fostering journey.

We’re proud of our extensive, personalised support we offer all of our carers. During your application to become a foster carer with Foster for Solihull, you will have access to:

A dedicated Social Worker

All of our potential foster carers are paired with a highly experienced Social Worker. They’ll be on hand to help you feel supported and encouraged. If you feel you need advice or you’re having any difficulty, your Social Worker is there to help.

An induction programme

You will join our preparatory course for new carers to gain essential skills before becoming an approved foster carer. Once you are approved, you’ll receive a personalised development plan to further your fostering goals. We want to invest in your journey as a carer!

Monthly support groups

Foster for Solihull’s fostering community meets up regularly, offering specialised support groups so that you can engage with local foster carers, get advice and make friends. We hold social events year-round, including our summer picnic and Christmas party.

"We've had fantastic support from social workers and other professionals."
